Gluten Free in Nerja

Gluten Free ‘Sin Gluten’ in Nerja Nerja is fairly well served with gluten free opportunities, both in restaurant and ‘buy to cook’ variety. As always, the price rockets with gluten free. Here are just a few of my favourites. Shops Econerja,   Calle Avenida Castilla Perez.  As the name would suggest this shop sells a wide variety of Gluten free and organic foods. Econerja Gluten Free Nerja Rincon Natural,  Calle San Miguel, close to the old bridge, and set in a dip next to the Chinese Bazaar. Again a wide range of gluten free and organic foods. Rincon Natural Gluten Free Nerja Salvador Bakery This is about 200 metres up from Rincon Natural, located on the corner of Calle Granada. Most of the bread is 'normal' however they do sell pre-packed gluten free bread. They now sell sour dough bread, which is 'Lava Dura Madre.' Salvador Bakery Gluten Free Nerja Mercadona supermarkets.  There are 2 located in Nerja. First, in Calle San Miguel, just up from the taxi rank, and secondly, close to the main entrance to Capistrano urbanisation. Mercadona have a number of items, including different breads, and 2 varieties of frozen pizza, amongst other items. Restaurants By total coincidence, or the fact that I only live a short way from it, there are at least 2 good restaurants in Calle Huertos that serve Gluten and Celiac friendly food.  La Joya This restaurant caters for everything, gluten free, celiac, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, dwarfs. You name it they cater! As they say on their advert, ‘Because its good to be flexible’! La Joya, Gluten Free Nerja Jaipur Indian  A lovely Authentic Indian restaurant. It can be a bit dark in places with it’s décor, but the food is great, and of course they cater for gluten free. Jaipur Indian Restaurant, Nerja Moving away from Los Huertos, there are 4 great restaurants catering for gluten intolerance.  Gusto Located at the bottom of Calle Pintada, Gusto ticks all the boxes, and has a great terrace. It is easy to miss as you walk up the Calle Pintada, it is on the left. Gusto Nerja Yuu Taley  Is a Thai restaurant situated on Burriana beach just along from Olas bar. In fact it is the last building in the row of shops. The food is fantastic. I have been there a number of times. The green curry is excellent. It caters for gluten free. It is not a cheap night out, but worth it. It is worth noting that their other restaurant is Lan Sang,  http://www.lansang.com/home situated in Calle Malaga, in the centre of Nerja. Another great choice for gluten free option. Yuu Taley, Gluten Free Nerja Lansang Lan Sang is situated on Calle Malaga, in the centre of Nerja. This is the 'sister' restaurant to Yuu Taley and serves fabulous Thai food, catering for gluten free customers. Again not a cheap night out, but excellent food.

Good Stuff Cafe

Good stuff cafe is located on Calle San Miguel, junction with Calle Chaparil. Run by an Irish family this is an oasis of great cakes, drinks, sandwiches, etc. A good meeting point. The selection of gluten free is vast. All 'home made.' Well worth a visit.
