Burriana Beach
Burriana beach lies to the East of Nerja, a short walk from
the town centre. Directly parallel to the beach are a number of great bars.
This beach I would say is the premium beach in Nerja. During
the summer you can hire Kayaks, Water paragliding, Banana rides, paddle boards, and Pedalos,
to name a few activities.
Kayaking is run by the Educare centre, which is at the far
end of the beach, away from Nerja. http://www.educare-aventura.com/en/

There are several trips, and 1 or 2 man Kayaks. My favourite
is the 2 man Kayak, with a guide. You head for Maro, and come across a
waterfall which you are welcome to paddle through. The trip lasts about 2 hours
and is great fun.

In the summer there are a limited amount of sunbeds
available. You pay for the use, generally around 3.50 Euros for the day.
However it seems people book the day before, so be warned, take a mat with you.
Car Parking, again in the summer, can be a complete
nightmare. There is some ‘on street’ parking, and a pay car park as you come
down the main approach road, Calle Filipinas . The parking is about 10 Euros for 6 hours. But it
is a nice car park! This car park is a bit 'hit and miss' as to opening.
Although there is no taxi rank, every bar/restaurant will
order a taxi for you, with normally only a short wait.
Just past the car park is a handy Tourist Shop. You can book most things there, and print off your airport boarding pass. Be aware that it costs around 3 Euros a page.

I have a number of favourite venues here.
Tropy Sol Coffee and Ice Cream bar.
Just as you get into Burriana beach there is a quaint coffee shop that serves ice creams in lieu of the traditional biscuit. A novelty, and more a fast slurp' idea in the summer, but nevertheless a good idea.
Tip The Wi Fi here is 'Open'

Rincon de Sol
With your back to the sea walk the entire length of the
beach, don’t worry it is only approx. 3 minute walk. At the very end is a yet
undiscovered goldmine of a bar, Rincon De Sol. Fabulous Mojitos, great
background music. Cool seating. It does get busy but if you can get one of the
white sofas, a great place to people watch.

Playa Y Sol
If a Strawberry Mojito or Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri are
your bag, with great food, and a bit of people watching, then this is the place
for you. You have a choice of wicker sofas or table and chairs. This is in the
middle of the promenade and therefore a great position to look around. The food
is great, and all at a reasonable price.
Again with your back to the sea, Playa Y Sol, is about a 1
minute walk along the promenade.
Update. They now sell Ginger flavour Mojitos. The expression is 'To die for!' Very very Hic, nice.

Olas
This is the typical Brit bar. Lots of football, chips, great
mix of customers. The team run a great bar, including a ‘Daddy Care’ service to
get them off the beach when moaning.
If you are in the area when Malaga football club are at
home, the bar can provide tickets to the match, with a coach laid on. Roughly 50
to 70 Euros, depending on whom they are playing. They operate a couple of local
drop off points on the way home in Nerja.

Parador Hotel
Located in Calle Almunecar, overlooking Burriana Beach, The
Parador hotel chain are a group of Government run hotels. Generally on the
‘upmarket’ side and situated in most major towns.
The Parador overlooks Burriana beach and albeit the sun is
in the wrong direction, is a fantastic ‘sundowner’ position. Drinks are
slightly more expensive, but the views more than make up for this.
Go to the rear of the hotel, through the main entrance.
There you will find extensive gardens and bar.
