Curry restaurants Nerja.

Curry Indian Restaurants Nerja.

You are here on holiday, the beer is flowing, the belly is increasing in size as you have another beer. What does any red blooded inebriated person want when it gets dark?
Yes curry, and more beer!!!
Once again we are in the right place. As I have said a number of times on this site, there are more options but these 5 are my favourites.

Haveli Indian Restaurant.

Almirante Ferrandiz (C/Cristo), No 44. Nerja.

Haveli Nerja

Basically walk up Post Office Street, away from the Balcon and it is about a 5 minute walk, on the right hand side. It is where the road really narrows. If you get to the Cottage Restaurant, or DBS bar you have gone too far. Stand on the Balcon with your back to the sea. Turn right, and weave through the alleyway to the 3 way junction. Take the middle option. 'Post Office Street' as it is known locally. This is a pedestrian street so no cabs. This place has been open for about 30 years, English speaking, with a terrace view point.
The menu is limited but it has all the 'normal' requirements, and they will cook anything different for you.
The terrace though is the place to set this restaurant alight.

Goa Town, Indian Restaurant,

This delightful place opened in April 2017, and is located in Calle Hernando Carabeo, just off the Balcon area.
This is my favourite at the moment. Strangely enough the staff appear to be English, and most, if not all, the customers were from the UK. I had the prawn Biryani, Madras strength and it was excellent. My party had beer and wine all night, and the bill was 20 Euros each. This place does have a few teething troubles, one being the front door which does not have a handle outside so you have to knock, or wave through the window. Even the waiter managed to lock himself out. We had a party of 8 and I found the seating a bit too cosy, but the rest of the tables appeared ok. Worth a visit.

Namaste, Nepalese and Indian Restaurant,

This is a lovely place, located in 'Post Office Street.' In the heart of town. Stand on the Balcon with your back to the sea. Turn right, and weave through the alleyway to the 3 way junction. Take the middle option. 'Post Office Street' as it is known locally is actually called Calle Cristo, Almirante Ferrandiz, 18. This is a pedestrian street so no cabs.
Namaste is located just past the post office going away from the Balcon.
Great selection of food. I like the House special, Pahadi Tikka. Nice pint of Kingfisher as well. I forget where the man said he was from, but speaks perfect English. Always a bonus.

Jaipur Indian Restaurant,

Located half way along Calle Los Huertos, just next to the Hotel Nerja Princess, and opposite a very nice Irish bar, is the Jaipur Indian Restaurant.
You can sit in or out on the terrace at the back. Pints of Kingfisher are served, and, I am told, a very cheeky glass of white wine is available. Last time I was in there I just had a couple of starters and a Nan bread. Spicy spinach and potato was one dish, and peas and cheese another. Fantastic food. Probably my favourite in Nerja. They were also advertising Gluten Free options.

Buddha House, Nepali and Indian Restaurant,

Finally, although a little out of town, in the next area, is Buddha House, Nepali and Indian Restaurant. This is located on the coast road on the right hand side as you come into the suburb of Torrox Costa. It lays back, so if you start to climb the hill into Torrox Costa you have just gone past it. Why do I like it? Good question, there are plenty more in the area, but it has good staff, excellent chef (Which helps), and is generally quiet.
A cab here will cost around 15 Euros each way from Nerja, but worth it.
I love the chilly chicken (Their spelling, not mine!), again washed down with a few pints. I have noticed they have a good lunchtime and early afternoon trade if a Matinee Curry is for you.
