Nice place for a drink and 'people watching' in Nerja Centre.
Nerja has a lot of lovely bars and restaurants with great
views and ambience. Here a few of my selections.
Kronox
If you want to sit and ‘people watch’ then you can’t beat
any of the bars in the main Balcon Square located by the church. One favourite
has got to be Kronox bar just opposite the main church entrance. This has a
very limited restaurant menu but great for a drink and stays open late.
Cochrans
This bar opens during the afternoon, then appears to close
around 5PM, reopening (In summer months) later in the evening. If you want a
great view from the terrace and only having a drink, then this is the place. Take
sunscreen with you. Because of the limited menu, Cochrans is best just for a
drink and the view. Cochrans can be found almost directly opposite Kronnox down
the alley. There are signs at the entrance to the alley, which coincidentally
also leads to El Salon and Caletilla beaches. Cochrans also does the best live
music in town late on a Friday and Saturday in the underground bar, also found
in the alley. It should be noted that the entrance to the terrace does not appear wheelchair friendly as there are a number of steps.
Marbella.
At the rear of the church overlooking the sea is the
Marbella Restaurant. Don’t be fooled by the extensive interior restaurant,
there is huge terrace to the rear with stunning views over the Mediterranean. In
the winter lunch can be found, with a drink, for about 15 Euros. You need to be
aware that in the event you only want a drink you may be moved away from the
terrace.
Service can be a little chaotic, the Spanish are not exactly known for their 'Customer Service' and lunchtime is usually the best time for good service.

Volks Bar, Sevillano
They say that Amazon is taking over the world, well the restaurant chain Sevillano is trying to take over Nerja. At the last count I found 4 restaurants/bars.

To be fair Sevillanos are a good chain but nothing extra
special. However their latest rooftop cocktail bars are worthy of mention.
Standing on the Balcon with your back to the sea, turn
right, after 200 metres (Ish) you will see the road splits into 3 forks. Take
the middle fork. Commonly known as ‘Post Office’ Street. Guess why! Also known
officially as Calle Almte Ferrandiz.
Walk a few hundred metres, passing the Coach and Horses
pub, and at the next junction you are at Sevillano corner. One side of the
junction is a restaurant, the other a tapas bar. Both have roof top terraces.
My favourite is the rooftop cocktail bar, above the restaurant called Volks
Bar. The front of a camper van serves as the serving area. A good selection of
cocktails. Worth a visit.
The entry to Volks bar is not signposted, so walk to the
back of the restaurant and you will find a lift and stairs. It is about 4
floors up.
