Ex Pat Bars and best English Breakfasts

There are several certainties in life, including tax, death, Nurses, and people wanting an ex pat bar and a great English breakfast.

Hope fully in this section I can assist you. Yes there are other bars, and other breakfasts, but I am going on my thoughts having lived in Nerja for a while.

English Breakfast

Coach and Horses
Lets deal with English breakfast. By the far the best is the ‘Coach and Horses’ in Calle (Road) Almirante Ferrandiz. Easily found, by standing in the main Balcon Square with the sea to your right and the church to your rear. Walk for about 200 metres you come to a split in the pedestrian walkway, where the path splits into three. Select the middle path, this is Calle Almirante Ferrandiz, you will find the yellow post office or ‘Oficina de Correos’ on the right about 20 metres past the junction. Pass the post office keeping it to your right. The ‘Coach and Horses’ is on the left hand side, about a 3 minute walk. In the summer you can sit outside. They have a vegetarian option. The food is always hot, service is great with friendly staff.
To be honest I have been there in the evening on a couple of occasions and the place had the personality of a gnat! Great for breakfast though.

Coach and Horses, Nerja

Ex Pat Bars. UK Football in Nerja.

This depends really on what you need, or more to the point what the rest of the group require.
Most UK bars put on multi screen football. Both UK and European.

Bosque Bar

Bosque bar in Calle Castilla Perez, is central to town, with a covered awning (And heaters in the winter) at the front. Friendly staff.  Not many families seem to go there, mainly sole men or couples.  Having said that, as in most of Nerja, the Bosque bar has cheap drink, friendly staff and customers. This has multi screen for the football.

DBS bar
DBS bar in Calle Cristo is about a 5 minute walk from the Balcon. A large airy bar with a rear terrace and pool table. DBS is family friendly, however it is the quieter than the Bosque bar. DBS bar advertise the forthcoming football matches at the front. Again multi screen. The 'DBS' stands for The Dogs B@@@@cks. There is a very nice mural on the wall inside depicting the official name.
Don't be put off by this, it is all done in the name of British Humour.

Chapel bar
Chapel bar, Calle Jaen is mainly a quiet couples bar.  Children are welcome, there is seating outside. Football is shown. Ian, the owner, makes a great effort to please and puts on darts nights, cheese club nights, and other theme type nights. If you just want a quiet drink this is a great place.

Olas bar
Olas Bar, Burriana Beach. This bar is situated on the road parallel to the (Burriana) beach at the far end away from Nerja.  This is a friendly family bar close to the beach. All the main football is shown, accompanied by great homemade food. Families are welcome, and they specialise in ‘Dad Sitting’ whilst the rest of the family spend the day on the beach.
If you fancy watching Malaga Football live, the bar sells a package consisting of a return coach ride and entry to Malaga Football ground. The prices range from 30 to 70 Euros dependent upon who they are playing.
Just pop in and see the staff, they don't bite!
